Luca's Notes:

IQ had a big chance to become a top selling band. Some circumstances
did not allow it but back in 1986 the band was still struggling to
play Marquees, Granary Clubs and Music halls in England (Scotland was
very unsuccessful territory, while Wales or Ireland were non-existing
in the touring schedule. From 1987, the band started to tour Europe
extensively.

The adventure outside UK begun back in September 1986 with a
fortunate 'double-bill' where IQ> shared the stage with Pallas at the
Paradiso in Amsterdam, then a church that was turned into a 1,000
capacity hall. The reaction was great and the band had seen interest
growing even before the show, when Martin and Paul did an improvised
appearance at Leidseplein (whatever the spelling it is!) singing an
unplugged version of No Love Lost.

The Netherlands has always been a second home to IQ, and when a
Europen tour was announced in march 1987 to support the Nomzamo tour,
it was obvious that Holland (along with Germany) was a very important
part of the tour.

What you will hear in this vine is one of the dates from that tour,
captured in Holland. Due to the big success, the band came back to
Europe later in november, adding new territories to the tour (France,
for example, where I attended a great show at the Rex theatre), but
still keeping few dates in Holland. The setlist was slighlty changed,
including some excerpts of new tracks which you will find here as a
filler, as well as a couple of tracks not played during the tour in
june.

To fill the 2 cds set there's the support set from 1989 tour
supporting Mike & the Mechanics, recorded at the famous Olympia
theatre in Paris. All recordings come from 1st generation tapes I
traded in those years where I was a completist of anything with 'IQ'
written on...

So this will become the DUTCH DREAM 87 vine, two cds on FLAC.
